Dispatch is a private tool built and run by Brett Ludwig of Simple Connections. It is not a product, it is not offered to the public, and it has exactly one user: its operator. This page exists because Google requires a privacy policy for applications that request access to Gmail, and it describes what the application actually does.

What it accesses

With the operator’s explicit consent, Dispatch reads mail from the operator’s own Google accounts using the gmail.modify scope. That scope permits reading messages and changing their labels, read state and archive status. Dispatch does not send mail. It cannot delete mail permanently and it cannot change mailbox settings such as forwarding rules, because it never requests the scope that would allow either.

Dispatch is only ever authorized against mailboxes belonging to its operator. It has no mechanism for accessing anyone else’s account, and no other person can sign in to it.

Where the data goes

Message subjects, senders, dates and short previews are stored in a database on a computer the operator owns and physically controls. The application is reachable only over a private network; it is not published to the internet and has no public address.

Nothing is sold, rented, shared or disclosed to anyone. There is no advertising, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party embedded code.

Automated processing

To rank what needs attention, Dispatch may send message subjects and, for a small number of the most urgent items, message text to Google’s Gemini API. That processing is subject to Google’s own terms for that service. No other external service receives message content.

Retention, and how to end it

Stored mail data is kept only as long as it is useful to the operator and may be deleted at any time. Access can be withdrawn at once, by the operator, at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking access there immediately stops all further reading, and the stored copy is then deleted.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Dispatch’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
